Exec­u­tive Assis­tant to the Pres­i­dent and Chief Devel­op­ment Offi­cer
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island seeks a full-time Exec­u­tive Assis­tant to sup­port the Pres­i­dent and Chief Devel­op­ment Offi­cer in their job func­tions and gen­er­al­ly serv­ing as rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the roles and the orga­ni­za­tion. The Exec­u­tive Assis­tant sched­ules all meet­ings for The Trust’s Pres­i­dent and CDO, man­ages their cal­en­dars and answers their phones as need­ed. The Exec­u­tive Assis­tant exe­cutes all fol­low up from meet­ings and tracks a wide range of projects/​tasks exe­cut­ed by the President.

Asso­ciate Cura­tor and Project Manager
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island seeks a full-time Asso­ciate Cura­tor & Project Man­ag­er to pro­vide sup­port to the VP of Arts & Cul­ture on the Island’s pub­lic art pro­gram, devel­op­ing new pub­lic pro­grams and work­ing direct­ly with artists, part­ner orga­ni­za­tions and con­trac­tors on the real­iza­tion and pro­duc­tion of projects, and is respon­si­ble for man­ag­ing the Island’s cul­tur­al pro­gram in Nolan Park and Colonels Row hous­es, act­ing as the Island’s pro­gram­ming liai­son for the Trust’s sea­son­al cul­tur­al orga­ni­za­tions in res­i­dence pro­gram. The Asso­ciate Cura­tor & Project Man­ag­er reports to the VP of Arts & Cul­ture and works col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly with the Pub­lic Affairs team, includ­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tions and events, as well as the oper­a­tions, legal and finance teams.

Motor­pool Mechan­ic
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island seeks a full-time, year-round Motor­pool Mechan­ic. The Mechan­ic is respon­si­ble for dai­ly inspec­tion, main­te­nance, test­ing and repairs of the Island’s small equip­ment, pow­er hand tools and land­scape equip­ment as well as a fleet of gas and elec­tric ser­vice carts, pas­sen­ger and mis­cel­la­neous vehi­cles. This posi­tion will report to the Trust’s Senior Land­scape Man­ag­er and Lead Land­scap­er and will work with the broad­er Oper­a­tions team. This posi­tion requires supe­ri­or orga­ni­za­tion­al, inter­per­son­al and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills and the abil­i­ty to work effec­tive­ly as a team mem­ber in a fast-paced environment.

Oper­a­tions Man­ag­er
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island seeks a full-time Oper­a­tions Man­ag­er to man­age the ongo­ing site oper­a­tions of Gov­er­nors Island. The Oper­a­tions Man­ag­er is respon­si­ble for ensur­ing the Island oper­ates effi­cient­ly and safe­ly for the pub­lic and all mem­bers of the Gov­er­nors Island com­mu­ni­ty. Report­ing to the Senior Oper­a­tions Man­ag­er, the Oper­a­tions Man­ag­er works col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly to expe­dite work and site logis­tics with the on-site oper­a­tions team. This is a hands-on role that requires dai­ly work out­doors coor­di­nat­ing the activ­i­ties of a field team. This posi­tion requires week­end work.

Land­scap­er
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island seeks a full-time, Land­scap­er. Report­ing to the Trust’s Senior Land­scape Man­ag­er and/​or Lead Land­scap­er, the Land­scap­er will work with a broad­er team of land­scap­ers to care for and main­tain the Island’s diverse grounds and lawns.

Sea­son­al Land­scap­er
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island seeks a full-time, sea­son­al Land­scap­er. This is a 6‑month posi­tion (from July-Decem­ber) that may require week­end work. The Sea­son­al Land­scap­er will work with a broad­er team of land­scap­ers and hor­ti­cul­tur­al staff to care for and main­tain the Island’s diverse grounds, lawns and landscapes.

Sea­son­al Cus­to­di­an
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island is see­ing a Cus­to­di­an to join the Facil­i­ties team report­ing to the Facil­i­ties Super­vi­sor. This is a full-time posi­tion (through Decem­ber) that requires week­end work. The Cus­to­di­an will work with a diverse team to achieve the high­est stan­dards of clean­li­ness in build­ings and pub­lic restrooms on the Island.

Sea­son­al Groundskeep­er
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island seeks a full-time, sea­son­al Groundskeep­er. The Groundskeep­er is part of the Oper­a­tions team and reports to the Oper­a­tions Man­ag­er. This is a 6‑month posi­tion (from July-Decem­ber) that requires week­end work. The Groundskeep­er is respon­si­ble for pro­vid­ing dai­ly hands-on work that con­tributes to keep­ing the Island, open spaces, and struc­tures through­out the Island in a clean and safe con­di­tion for all Island visitors.

Assis­tant Chief Engi­neer
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island seeks an Assis­tant Chief Engi­neer to sup­port the entire engi­neer­ing team and their work in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Chief Engi­neer. The Assis­tant Chief Engi­neer will work along­side the Chief Engi­neer to cre­ate work plans and exe­cute work in the field, as well as over­see­ing a suc­cess­ful appren­tice­ship pro­gram in the train­ing and exe­cu­tion of their respon­si­bil­i­ties, and fill­ing in for the Chief Engi­neer in their absence.

Nation­al Park Ser­vice, Gov­er­nors Island Nation­al Monument:

Park Ranger (full-time, per­ma­nent)
The Nation­al Park Ser­vice is hir­ing Park Ranger posi­tions at Man­hat­tan sites, includ­ing the Gov­er­nors Island Nation­al Mon­u­ment. These posi­tions are locat­ed in Man­hat­tan Sites, in one of the nine indi­vid­u­al­ly leg­is­lat­ed units. The work involves pre­sent­ing a com­plete and high­ly var­ied suite of struc­tured pro­grams (e.g., talks, tours, pre­sen­ta­tions, etc.) and pro­vid­ing relat­ed ser­vices to visitors.
