Description
The East Development Zones is bordered by new park space to the west and the promenade, which encircles the entire Island, to the east. The East Development Zone, approximately 26 acres, faces the Buttermilk Channel and the working Brooklyn Waterfront and is located immediately off Yankee Pier.

About Eastern Development Zone
The Eastern Development Zone, the larger of the two new construction parcels on Governors Island presents the opportunity to develop 26.5 acres. Bordered by the new Park on to the west, and the promenade and Buttermilk Chanel to the east, the Eastern Zone offers stunning views of Brooklyn’s working waterfront and access to all Governors Island’s public spaces have to offer. Yankee Landing, located at the Zone’s northern edge, is the current entry point for visitors arriving from Brooklyn.
